New Beginners Tai Chi Group
There is a new Kinver U3A Beginners Tai Chi Group starting very soon.
The group will run every Tuesday from October 18th to December 20th ( see exact dates below). We will learn the Tai Chi 8 Form, some basic postures and movements and practise some Qi Gong. In the later sessions we will introduce the 24 Form. After Christmas we will decide whether this group can merge into the existing Beginners Group.
Key Information:
Dates: Tuesday October 18th to Tuesday December 20th
10 sessions in all
Times: 12.30pm to 1.30pm
Venue: Hall at the KSCA/ Edward Marsh Centre, Kinver
Places: Limited to 20 on a first come first served basis
Cost: £1 per session
What to wear: some sort of comfortable loose or stretchy trousers or leggings and top. Plimsolls, trainers or shoes with relatively thin soles
What to expect in terms of physical activity: an hour of sustained, relatively gentle stretching, balance and movement from a standing position with a short break. It may stretch you more than you think!
I should add that none of us who lead the sessions at Kinver U3A is a qualified Tai Chi teacher- we have all learned from videos and more experienced members of the group. We do love our Tai Chi, however, so we’re happy to share our enthusiasm with you if you want to give it a try.
