News from the Ukulele Group

The Ukulele Group continues to grow in size since it was established some 4 years ago.  Then fewer than 10 people got together: we now number some 40 members, many of whom now perform with our ukulele band, ‘Ukes On The Edge’.   We have a programme of events for the year playing at various venues and functions such as care homes, retirement homes, senior citizens groups, societies, birthdays, ukulele festivals, fetes etc. and really enjoy entertaining.

The ‘Ukes On The Edge’ performing group has become very popular and this has seen us do a record number, for us, of 30 gigs in the past year of which 8 were in December during the Christmas festivities and although we are just into 2020 we already have a number of gigs booked in our calendar.

Any of our group members can  play in the band or, if they prefer, they can just come along to our Friday singalong sessions where we have a good time with lots of laughs plus a cup of tea or coffee and a biscuit.

Anyone interested in joining the Ukulele Group should contact Paul Fleetwood on 07846 686199, beginners, improvers and experienced players are always welcome and ukuleles are available to borrow for those who first want to “dip their toes in the water” without having to purchase an instrument in order to give it a try.
