Kinver U3A IT Group

The IT Group exists to help Kinver U3A members with using their IT devices such as smartphones, tablets, laptops and desktop computers.

Our first activity will be a series of workshops for people who have iPhones and/or iPads, and want to feel more confident about using them.

These sessions have been set up with three sub-groups, each meeting once a month. Because there needs to be time for one-to-one help for the participants in each session, we have limited the groups to six, and let members know which sub-group they are part of. We are sorry that this means the events are not open to other attendees, but we hope to be able to run more in future.

You can find the details for the meetings for each of these sub-groups by tapping or clicking one of these links:

I’m Max Caines, and I shall be leading these sessions. I’ve worked in IT since 1976, when computers filled a room, and although I specialised for most of that time in designing and managing IT networks, I also spent time using and looking after a variety of software. I’m a long-time iPhone and Windows user, but I also have some knowledge of iPads and MacOS.

I’m hoping that we can find other people in U3A who can help with this. My knowledge of Android is sketchy, and I don’t know much about video or social network apps, so anyone who can help in areas like those will be welcome!

I look forward to meeting you in future. Meanwhile, here’s a link to some notes for the iPhone and iPad sessions.
