Our August ride took place on Tuesday 16th and was very competently prepared and led by David Giddings. Three intrepid riders, Ian Watkins, David Giddings and Ben Thompson, all had electricity in their bikes and veins. They were joined by a courageous push bike guest, Ken Cowdrey, who coped magnificently and managed to keep up with David and Ian, who sped along the lanes from Kinver, through Enville and on to Claverly.
Cleverly, David had arranged for a stop at the Tea Cosy at Claverly, which was closed! However, we were led to believe it was all part of David’s master plan when the Alladin’s cave which is Ravenwood New Age/Hippy centre opened in the courtyard just for us. David’s request for hallucinogenic tea was denied as he needed to be alert to lead us home!!! This was a brilliant rest stop however, highly recommended for drinks, snacks and a warm welcome from the hosts.
Yellow Jersey award definitely to Ken Cowdrey for keeping up.
A great morning out, good company and great exercise.
Next ride, led by Ben, is on Tuesday September 20th, meeting at 10.00am at the end of the lane in which Bridgnorth Golf Club is situated, travelling along the course of the Severn to Ironbridge for refreshments, then returning to Bridgnorth. More details nearer the date.
Look forward to seeing you all there.
